Hello All,

A bit of nostalgia with video of the 1993 Quonset Point Air Show. This Air Show was put on by the newly formed Quonset Air Museum and the Rhode Island Aviation Heritage Association.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJ6_-UUp59Y

I had fun making it and hope the members will enjoy this visit to the past.

:D

Wow, Great stuff.
I saw Chris in the right seat of the B-25, and a whole bunch of other memories.
The name on the side was the Base Commander of Hanscom at the time, he gave them hangar space.
The number on the tail was also a birthday, looks like he turned 68 this year.

I have a picture of the Pumpkin drop around here somewhere. I will have to dig it up.

Reese Dill and Hank Morretti in their T-6s
Tallichet's B-17 with the cowls off, imagine that.
And 136788 with the wings moving, oh I miss watching the locks when the wings were moving.
I will have to post a picture of it while I am up there tomorrow, it has not flown in at least 6 years. :(

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the kind words! I was one of the original members of the Quonset Air Museum. I made a lot of good friends there and had some great times.

In the video you can see Damon Ise out on the ramp and also Robin Foote in his T-34. Not shown but there is my good friend of many years, Larry Webster.

Lots of great memories!!

Cheers!

:drink3: :drink3:

A question for WIXers in regard to the Quonset Point Museum. I believe the museum has updated their website, but I'm not finding any recent info since spring 2011...Do any members have an updated website ID?...Leon

The announcer liked to hear the B-25 run up his "2800s"?

Anyone that came near that airplane knows that's the truth!

I worked up at Beverly (KBVY) today.
Here is a pic of the C-1a in its current state. :(

Image

Its been in this spot for at least a couple of years, and grounded here for 6+
We installed the props after the AD was done, it was run a couple of times since.

Thanks for the video. As someone who helped restore the B-25 and maintain the C1A, it was nice to see!
I was there, but didn’t get to see the great watermelon drop from my location. “Super Dave” the crew chief for the B-25, who was in the B-25, said it was awesome.
I think they had a gear problem and had to fly over the ocean and make some high G maneuvers to get the gear to lock down. Maybe that’s why you see the B-25 flying by with its gear down, hoping someone in the tower can tell if it’s down and locked.

Phil
