German Stuka replica where is it now?

I would like to know the status and location of the 7/10s scale German Stuka replica.

It was was built by Mr. Louis Langhurst of Carrier, Mississippi, in 1979. Mr. Langhurst invested over 8,000 manhours to plan and build the aircraft. In 1980, Oberst Hans Ulrich Rudel,
with Mr. Langhurst, flew this aircraft. It was Colonel Rudel’s last flight in a STUKA. N87LL was
on display in the San Diego Air and Space Museum for ten years. Its last known owner was Mitch Sammons, who purchased the aircraft from Mr. Roland Weeks of Biloxi, Mississippi, in 2002 and flew it to Maine in November of 2004. It is powered by a Lycoming GO-435-B engine and its major components are from the venerable PT-19 training aircraft.

Do the plans exist for this one? I think this would be very popular if made into a kit.

It is still owned and flown by Mr. Sammons. He takes it to several events a year in the New England area. We have had him come to our reenactment several times now. He flies it VFR only, so there are years where the weather has not cooperated for him to make it down.

Undoubtedly one of the best scaled replicas around and the quality must be more than skin deep considering how many years of service the airplane has already provided for the various owners. This one has been around long enough to qualify as vintage in its own right!

But my question still stands…. is it possible for someone to build one of these if they so desired? Meaning are the blueprints / plans available or even exist? Tell me you wouldn't want to see 5 or 6 of these in formation at a show!

If I remember rightly, there WAS another one built from Langhurst's plans, but I've no idea about it other than that.

There was a Russian Stuka replica floating around a few years ago, but it looked a bit lighter than this one - certainly not as "chunky" around the fuselage, anyway.

I, too, would like to know if plans are available. Also other things, like: what is the airframe built from? What engine? Could a smaller, inverted V12 be used? Or a V8?

But seriously, how cool would it be to attend an airshow and have a Stuka, complete with sirens, do a dive bombing attack on the airfield?
