Mostly "Alternative Rock" (whatever that means) in the morning, and talkradio in the afternoons. My commute is only 7 miles each way, so I don't listen much, and virtually never at home. We only have a boom box at home, and never use that...

I think I just figured out how you're going to compensate me for my editorial services

I spent 11 years (back in the '80s and early '90s) on the road playing keys for a Reggae and Ska band. About 300 dates a year... Now I front a traditional Jamaican Ska band (http://www.akarudie.com), but we don't tear up the road like the old days... Got my fill and MORE back then!

Getting my feet wet with some AAF Living History now, and looking forward to Oshkosh!

Rudie what shows are you interested in, I have access to about 150 shows.

I would really like to get ahold of some of the Clash's shows from the multi-day run on Broadway. I would imagine those board tapes would be pretty well done since they didn't strike the gear for so many consecutive days (if Topper wasn't nodding out). Anything before Mick left the band would be killer, though.

These days I usually listen to Jamaican rarities - mostly Studio One label.

"Rudie Can't Fail"

Very cool. Skatalites tenor sax player Roland Alphonso played on a song on my current band's first CD, and it was the last session he did before he passed away...

The Specials are still playing!? I figured that Neville had burned his bridges pretty thoroughly with the other guys. That just leaves Roddy to front the band, and he's been doing his SkaBilly Rebels gig. Last I had heard The Specials were pretty much over with. Hope I'm wrong.

So do you like Ska-Punk or do you listen to the harder stuff IE: The Germs, D.O.A, ect.

Nah, not much into the hyphenated stuff. I take my roots music straight! Of course, when I was a lad I was into anything that would make my parents cringe, but I was really into more of an early Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, Ramones, Clash, UB40 (pre-Labour of Love) kinda vibe.

You should check out http://www.antisoshal.com/

He's got tons of shows and hard-to-find stuff on DVD.

Now that we've totally hijacked the thread from anyone who might actually have a legitimately interesting hobby, maybe we should continue our rantings via email

I really AM interested in those Clash shows though....

Ahh paintball, I used to sink so much money into that game. 10 years ago I was co-captain of the Legion of the Damned, a 10 man tournament team based out of Boston. We did the New England Tournaments. I spent $3000 in paint that summer. Haven't played since I was sick, I'll have to look into joining a walk-on game next Summer.

Circa 1990 or so.... old school pump action paintball rifle with silencer. Works pretty good too.
