Only got told about this posting in the last few days while sharing drinks with the boys at the completion of another recovery / excavation job. There seems to be some doubling up here on the information. In the last few days Wang has listed a Kingfisher on the Australian register, being second to another one that we all knew existed. So they now have 2 kingfishers confirmed. This is pretty exciting news and could be were the wires get crossed.
Our research into 40-481 is based around a project I purchased but have now sold. There is alot of good evidence to support the conclusions reached in the report paper but unlike many others, we like to have something more than a data plate or rusty old engine crank case to base a rebuild on. I have no idea about what magazine is involved but suspect that has more to do with the Kingfisher project than anything we're doing. I did get an email from a publisher regarding some P-40 news but that had nothing to do with this thread.
I noticed a few negative comments about these parts and need to ask, what should we do with them if not use them in a rebuild? and, Murray did not disclose all he knew to people either, just those he trusted. I can say that because Murray and I did not get along, we disagreed on many topics but I recommended his company rebuild A29-186 to its new owner because I think the team he finally ended up with was the best available. I still believe this and the Kingfisher news is evidence of the ongoing proactive steps being taken by the team still operating out at Wang.
Finally, I was banned from a forum here in Australia because I published on a thread a series of comments between myself and the moderator regarding some remarks I had made on one of the threads. I complained of the double standards and was told because they paid the bills they could say what they like. That sort of stuff doesn't sit well with me.
If anyone can help with further research into 40-481 I would appreciate any constructive comments. Any gripes, moans, groans and general negativity can go somewhere else.
