Anyone with more specifics as to the plans for this aircraft, where in California it is headed to, and whether it has reached the u.s. yet? The Muzej vazduhoplovstva-Beograd sure has some rare and valuable aircraft in it's collection. They have done a fine job protecting many of them if you consider all that has gone on in the region since world war 2. The report indicates they've been having trouble with funding the restoration and upkeep of their aircraft. Perhaps they would be willing to part with another aircraft with little relevance to Yugoslavian aviation history to fund their efforts. I am only hoping, as I don't see myself traveling to Serbia any time soon.

Well, it isn't under 275 feet of ice and it looks to have been inside not exposed to elements or 'souvenierers' so that's a good start.

Unfortunetly the same page seems to indicate the sale stalled last month. Shame, would be great if they could raise the funds to restore their G.50.

There has ben a lot of problems in the past with the museum selling off assets with dozens of aircraft being sold illegally by museum directors etc which resulted in prosecutions.

This was more about lining the pockets than any benefit to the museum itself.

The last attempt was in the early 2000s with the Stuka parts which were stopped and seized on the way out by Customs.

I've often wondered about this one when going through Warbird Resitry P-38s. Thank you for the info

Thanks for that...first pics I've ever seen of their G.50. She really needs to be restored and displayed.
