I saw that aircraft at Thunder once...probably five or ten years ago. I believe the owner said it was still being used as a cargo hauler.

The last of the Model 18's had a taller cabin ceiling meaning bigger cabin windows as shown in the picture, also different nacelles and 3 bladed props, and lengthened, squared off wingtip extensions as some of the obvious external differences, but I'll bet that a few wound up in smaller air forces as VIP haulers for El Jeffe'.

I'd bet that was the case in many a place, and that would then, make them a warbird, after having survived military service.
Same would go for some Cessna 152s, 172s, Beech Bonanzas, and so on...
