Rumor S-55's in Casa Grande, AZ. scrapped. Anyone confirm?

Did you PM Mike Henninger and ask about directions or names about the yard full of S-55/H-19's he took pictures of in his recent posting about the desert odyssey??

One day I will get you guys trained.

Each set of pictures in the Desert Odessy thread included a link to a Google map which is all you need for directions...

I just spoke with Ron Mander from Whisper Jet, a really friendly and knowledgeable gentlemen. For the record there are no plans to get rid of anything , it is just a rumor. Always easier to go right to the source.

Indeed I'd love to be able to wander through the storage facility and look at BuNo130164. There is a photo of it on my site from when it was at Chandler courtesy of Ryan Keough:

Dad flew BuNo130164 twice for a total of 1.9 hours back in 1952 while it was based at Santa Ana.
