Here's a drawing from the NMUSAF web site on the Shuttle Crew Compartment Trainer that should be arriving this summer.

It looks like, in terms of easy access to the innards of the Shuttle, that this may have more educational value than a flown vehicle.

I like the design of the display and I'm looking forward to seeing it in person. I'm glad Dayton will atleast have something shuttle related. It will be very cool to get a look into the flightdeck. 8)

Thanks for the Heads-Up on this, Jerry and Pat - I'll be looking forward to seeing this once it arrives!

I was wondering how I might be able to get advanced notice when the crew compartment will be delivered. I would love to see the Super Guppy flying it in.

Wow...I really could've used that three months ago LOL. I just finished animating a cartoon about the shuttle, which required a lot of work researching the interiors. A single photo trip to the museum, which is only an hour from my house, would've been just the thing.

Anyway, great news! I agree, it's arguably more fun than having the shuttle itself on static. I'm looking forward to seeing it. Thanks for posting!
