The film maker is that very YT user, CVU500....

"I was a technician working on a 16mm documentary about the making of the film so I decided to shoot a bit of my own 8mm - all silent of course. I added the sound effects &amp; music at home. The documentary was distributed with the feature DVD. It was a fantastic experience seeing all these wonderful old war planes flying again Many non-flyers were full scale models with lawn mower engines to make the props rotate, and were blown up."

That would be friend-of-Wix Bill Greenwood's Spit making the low pass at 3:02 I guess. IIRC, TE308 was the only 2-seater involved in the filming.

I am sure there were two of the twin seat spitfires in the movie.

There were two Spit Tr.9s involved, but MJ772 was belly-landed due to an engine problem (by, I believe, Connie Edwards, but I could be wrong) and didn't participate any further in filming.

Excellent footage,thanks for posting. A pity that there isn't any sound,but you can't have everything! My favourite scene from the film is the '109's strafeing the Hurricanes in 'France',it looks even lower in this footage!

Surprising to see how close the fim crew were to the action,bet that is not allowed now!
