Custom data plates

I have an idea for a project that would require a custom metal data plate. Does anybody know of a company that makes them?

Scott,

Sometime within the last year someone had a thread showing how they made their own. You might try a search.

There's a company here in Tulsa that does acid-etch engraving, just like many of the pre-1950 data plates were done. I've had them done to replicate really old ones, and they're pretty good looking. If you're interested PM me and I'll get you info. They just take the high-res scan/photo you have, charge a 25-50 dollar art fee, and then start pumping them out for you. 1 or 1000.

There are a number of on line places where you can order the chemicals to do the job, they are mostly for doing your own custom circuitry boards. And, I think RADIO SHACK also carrys the stuff.

Hey Scott

I work for a Landing Gear company and we get our Nameplates from a company called Metalstat.
I don't think they have a website, however here's a link to their contact info:

We have a local firm here that does a lot of antique airplane stuff as well as antique cars.
Nice guy and he does great work. And I don't think he minds small orders.
