Replica vintage WWII plane crashes
FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said the experimental Arado-Flugzeugwerke GMBH landed around 9:10 a.m. when it suddenly veered left off the runway.
The plane suffered damage to its left wing and landing gear, but a full estimate of damage was pending, Gregor said.
The pilot had taken off from Casa Grande Municipal Airport for a local flight.

Does this have anything to do with the flugwerk wing rivet failure's?
Fri Mar 30, 2012 5:31 pm
There are some good photos here. Looks like considerable damage to both wings, among other things.

On the first photo, someone commented that it looks like it had wooden props, and it does lool like it. Does it have wooden props?
Fri Mar 30, 2012 8:46 pm
Unless someone has fould a way to mimic wood splintering with metal, those are wooden.
Fri Mar 30, 2012 9:09 pm

@Dano: Sad news regarding your plane, but fortunately no one was hurt. It is not easy to see such a fine a/c, so much work, enthusiasm and money in such a state. BUT: I do wish you have the power and will to go on. Thumbs up, Dano, keep going.
