Thanks to Nelson & Chad Ezell for making this happen.

What was the extent of Ezell's involvement?

AMAZING!!!!
Less than a year in Texas for the fuselage centersection and tail cone and it's back with all the cancer taken care of! And it has legs!!!!

Fantastic effort guys and thank you Drew, for spearheading the project. I thought it would take much long to get to this point! Still a long way to go, but that all important spar is fixed!
Wooopeeeee! :supz: :supz: :supz: :supz: :drink3:

Quite a bit actually. They did a lot of love me tender work (i.e. Corrosion control/repair) on the aircraft in exchange for being able to use it for patterns on Lex's Brewster Corsair that is now in their hangar. From what Nelson said in a couple of interviews, I think he has plans for those patterns for more than just Brewster Corsair.

I suck because I can't figure out what the heck I( am looking at besides something big and white sitting on a flatbed.

Muddy,
That's the center section of the Corsair, turned up on its nose. The Fuselage and tail section on their side.

Mark,
The details of the our business contract are private but I can tell you that
- Main Spar was repaired and corrosion treated
- New New Landing gear cleaned and installed
- New Pair of Wheels for the gear were sourced
- Tail Gear assembly (we still need a correct wheel and hook)
- Full Corrosion Control of assemblies & priming

Nelson & Chad utilized our structure to create jigs and forms as well as using it for reference points for the F3A.

Our tail section still needs some work due to the severity of the damage. We will be making those repairs in Stratford unless someone else would like to help us out :-)

With any luck, yes. But thats all tentative as of right now. Either way we here in Stratford are psyched to have her home. I personally cant thank Ezell enough for helping us out! Now to focus on her eventual home...

It was a miserable day weather wise but we are very happy that the Corsair is home safe and sound.

Note: the lift trucks were being used for a straight up lift so the cart she sits on could be slipped under her.

Congrats CASC team. I enjoyed watching the Corsairs progress here and on Ezell Aviations face book page. Glad to see it back in CT and I can't wait to see you put it all back together. :drink3:

Best news is that the museum is open on Saturdays now to the General public (you must be over 18 years old). We now have a video taped safety briefing which allows weekend entry to the site. Come on down!
