Thanks Carlos for the info on 72483. It would be great to see a picture of 411 in Salvadorian service. Also thank you Gary for the kind words and by the did you see a B-29 fly over your house today??

Hang the expense said, "The pictures of the wrecked F4U and PBY are the birds my Dad talked about being in the dump there at the airport.Anyone remember where the dump was on the property?"

I have included some aerial views of NAS Atlanta in 1954. The circled area is the dump for the old NAS. I do not know were the dump was after DeKalb County took over. I know that much of this area and more were used for a county landfill, which attracted a lot of birds. Take off from runway 16 over the landfill could get dicey. A Learjet 35 in the early 70's found that turbofans do not like thrashers , much to there chagrin.
