The P-40 is absolutely stunning! It wouldn't by chance be heading to Austria, eventually, would it? It seems it was built and finished to match the character of a certain P-38, very well. : )

Appears to be just a reflection of the stripes on the rudder.

Does anyone have an ID for that P-40B/C? Just wondering if it is 39-285 or 39-287?
Thanks
Paul

Seriously? It isn't supposed to be a look a like of this airplane.
Jim
Though I read here somewhere this P-40 is 'static only'. I looked at it extensively yesterday and it seems to need some work yet. Still outstanding looking just the same. I also took some very close up video of it as well that I'll post asap. As for the show. Well, PA had some problems and annoying music at times, a bit windy at times, kids running around wild at times, some people who still don't get the 'no smoking' thing as well as the 'don't touch' thing. The poor guys running the C-17 will need a complete inspection of their aircraft before it takes off anywhere, kids climbing, pulling and wrenching on all kinds of stuff. ugh! But the actual warbird flying was nice as usual. It may be me only, but I would rather see some closer formation flying of 'type' aircraft. The zero's did a nice job of staying close together, I would have liked the 4 Avengers to have done the same and some sort of simple mock dogfight would have been cool too with the zeros' vs anything Navy or the FW190 vs anything AAF or RAF, but other than that Chino is always a good time. I've been to this show several times over the years and ALL the folks who run it, volunteer for it are top notch, first class very cool people. I'm sure there were some who may be a bit uptight but not with me at anytime. I liked watching the ground crew as they direct aircraft in and out of the hot ramp. Very well done and fun to watch, there is no worries of anyone having a mishap there. And thanks to Cathy who picked me up in the golf cart from that 'secret' parking lot and took me to the Oracle tent. Very nice to have done that.

Interesting look-alike
