I keep seeing on Facebook Weeks' photos of his current trip to New Zealand. Just saw one of him with Peter Jackson and read the following from his post:

"Hanging out on the set of the Hobbit!

Spent all morning with Peter watching some filming and then a tour of the outdoor set and lunch. It's absolutely amazing how they make the magic, which carries over into the airplanes they build.

Wish I could have shown you some of what I saw but any
pictures of the set were obviously forbidden"

So I can guess that "The Dam Busters" is being worked on?! I hope so

He may have ben simply referring to Jackson's collection of WWI aircraft or aircraft models build for other productions (like King Kong).
If Jackson is working on TDB, and Weeks saw something, perhaps it will prompt him to restore his Lancaster...

Kermit posted a few pictures earlier this week of some of the Lancaster mock-ups that will be used for the film. Kermit took showed his real forward and rear turrets that were used as patterns. I think he mentioned that is turrets would be restored as a condition of loaning them out.

Someone asked him about his Lancaster, but as expected he said it was a very long term project.

I've had a blast following his facebook page, almost hourly updates of his travels, (most are airplane related) 8)

Well Kermit did post this on Tuesday along with a pic.

"Checking out one of my Lanc turrets! I loaned Peter the front and rear turrets for this movie mock-up that is made of Lincoln and Lancaster parts to be used for close up filming for Dambusters." :D

Opps, TADan beat me to it.

Would you guys mind posting a link to the subject of the conversation? I can't seem to find it on Kermit's blog.

And if you don't want a Facebook log-in, he auto-posts the FB photo links to Twitter.

TVAL recently registered a Sopwith Pup that no-one has claimed, doesn't look like it is for Kermit however.
I really appreciate that Kermit has his planes display in NZ before taking them home (even if I missed the Snipe!).
