I hate to ask, but, is this a flyer or static?

Everything that has been stated about it, says that it will be a flyer (at least that is what it is being restored to). There has also been mention, several times, that it will have the proper, original-type, and operating, engine. Kermit's "Tony" has been at Precision as well, and I believe I read that Kermit's example has been used to help pattern specific parts for Yagen's.

Stick a radial on and fly her sooner than later.

The photo of the Tony reminds me that a 1980s era air racer (Cliff Cummins?) once owned a Tony and was having it restored. Whatever happened to it? I would think that either Yagen's project is the same one or Kermit Weeks is.

Frank Taylor had one at Stead which is the one that Kermit Weeks owns now. I don't know the history prior to Taylor's ownership but it could have come from Cliff Cummins.

Does Yagen fly any of his 'unusual' (= Russian/Japanese, etc) stuff anyway?

Any paint scheme yet? Think one should be as the Tony that shot my granduncle's B-29 down. I have a pic somewhere.

there are three at precision,Jerry yagen's Kermit's and a static one that will go back to png,there was talk of three flyer's when this project started but seem to be down to three all up now.Jerry was looking for an original ha40 (license built db601)i can only hope that he found a couple,really look forward to seeing these in the air

To answer you question about the Russian birds. The yak will be air-bourne Saturday and Sunday at Warbirds over The Beach. I asked at the volunteer class back in Nov. if the I-15,I-16, and I-153, ever get flown and the answer I got from one of the more senior docents was that none of the pilots want to fly them( im not sure how true that is or isn't as I said that was hear say from a docent). And I would think that the other Russian birds they have in storage may show up once they have more hanger space. There is still the LA-9 that is hidden away and maybe more(if anybody else knows more please do inform us). Or at least I know I have hopes of it The German hanger should be finished up soon and that will give them a little room that is much needed.

PS Meier Motors updated on their facebook a lot of good photos of the Buchon project and a real ME109 that, they have been giving the job of doing for Jerry and the Fighter Factory. I'd venture to think that Mathias will update their thread soon with pictures.

Speaking of the Military Aviation Museum, what a cool place that has continued to involve into! I'm looking forward to seeing the completed German hangar, reborn. A friend of mine went to the "Biplanes and Triplanes" show last year, and sent along some photos from the show, and I was very impressed by the beautiful WWI style hangars they also have now (besides the main facilities). I haven't heard/seen anything lately on the reconstruction of the original WWII-era English/RAF control tower that they also have?
