This from an old friend of mine:
Quote:
I've been searching for the mounts for my WW-II ART-13 transmitter and its DY-12 dynamotor (as used in the B-29, as well as other long-range aircraft during and after WW-II) for a long time, with no luck. The usual radio folks don't have any leads for me. Do you know where I might ask around?

The specific things I'm looking for are:

* Transmitter mount MT-284 or MT-284A
* Dynamotor DY-12 mounting plate (MT-164?)
* Fuse cover for dynamotor DY-12

Can anyone provide any leads?

Thanks,

Brandon

bdk, i have a lead, rather vague but one of the possibilities is right. a guy by the name of wayne hlaven i believe?? of richfield or richland ohio. (definetely 1 or the other) you'll have to call telephone information if it's listed. 216 phone area code as he's south of cleveland. he specializes in strictly ww 2 era radio equipment for aircraft, vehicles, etc, re-enactors, restorers, etc. i believe he goes by the name of "the signal corp" as a business, but i can't remember. i was out to see him years ago in the 90's & he had a very extensive inventory then. alot of n.o.s. (new old stock stuff too) this was during the pre internet days, so i have no clue as to a website, but you may want to try a google search. i did business with him in those early 90's days. he was very nice & accomodating. let me know if anything pans out for you. good luck, tom friedman

I wonder if Tom’s contact purchased some of the stuff from Dixon in Cleveland when he went out of business about 25 years ago. If he did, you are in luck.

Hey bdk, can you PM or email me your friends “usual sources”?

Fair Radio Sales: http://www.fairradio.com

Robert Downs, WA5CAB: Has eBay ID "wa5cab", frequently lists ART-13
accessories (but not the ones I'm looking for).

Yeah, my buddy has been surfing eBay for a while without success unfortunately. Apparently the racks normally stayed with the airframe rather than being removed with the radio.
