Here's your chance to make a difference. The FAA is at it again, they are looking for posts to the Federal Register to collect public comments in regards to the Living History Flight Experience program. They want to roll back the clock and limit future aircraft to those with exemption letters. Even the aircraft that currently have the letters are not guaranteed to have them renewed. There will be a meeting held in late June to look at public opinion. Along with the FAA reps, the DoD will be represented by USAF individuals. Our suspicion is that they will be there to bolster the arguments that later model jet aircraft shouldn't be included in the program. The FAA has used language verbatim from the USAF study done last year, this same study was cited as the basis of the language submitted by the Dayton Congressman to stop the transfer of any Govt aircraft not specifically allocated for static display.
Please go to the link to the Federal Register and voice your support for the LHFE program as it currently stands with NO new changes.
