All a part of the MAP program that sent them to Germany and there's some unfriendly folk South and East of Germany that would love to get ahold of F-4 spares for their very old airplanes, so it all gets turned into confetti.

So this is the story behind their destruction.

Same fate is awaiting the South Korean F 4 Ds,last of their breed,but still in service in a certain country in the Middle East,and certainly still useful for spares.

The terrible thing EATING the poor F 4s is most definitely a T-REX.

The German F4F's are not MAP aircraft; that program ended in 1967 which is earlier than any of those were ordered.
