The TV Movie "Death Race" can be found on VHS on Ebay under the export theatrical version entitled, "State of Division". Same movie, just a different title. It actually features 2 P-40's, and I believe the featured P-40 is actually Tallman's TP-40 with the rear cockpit painted over. This aircraft, as many know, has now been restored and is owned by Kermit Weeks.

How about X-15. Great actual footage.
The L-5 scene in Catch-22, the hand from the dummy flew back and jammed the elevator. Tallman had to land using trim and power to control pitch.

There are so many good scenes and really great movies, it's hard to pin it down to one....though one stands out for me other than the 109 opening in the BOB.... In the all around great movie "12 O'clock High", it's the scene where they have just returned from the first attack on the German homeland. Most of the ground staff stowed away on this one and General Savage confronts one of them....
Major Stovall: "My glasses were frosted over some....but I think I got a piece a one."
General Savage: "Ours or theirs?"

The Skyraider and UH-1 shots from "We were Soliders".
The man flying that Spad did an incredible job, Wow. And how can you not like looking at a Huey beating the air into submission.

The Skyraider in 'We WereSoliers' portrayed the sacrifice of Capt Paul T. McClellan of Stayon, OR who was shot down while napalming a a NVA force about to overrun the LZ. His widow was our guest at last Memorial Day observance at the Oregon Airman's Memorial.

Iron Eagle III, not the movie itself but if I could only have the aviation footage that hit the editing room floor! I was based at Evergreen's Marana, Arizona facility during the filming. They turned the ramp into a fighter base for at least a month. I think the movie went straight to video, even my looser cable movie channels don't run it. Here's an idea for a new cable movie channel, not AMC or TMC but how about ATD (All The Dogs) or OSM (Only Sh*&&# Movies). It's just a thought.

I saw "Iron Eagle III" at the theater with my Dad, we both enjoyed the flying scenes, and they are still as good on DVD!

The dogfight at the end of Waldo Pepper is sierra hotel...when the Camel and DR1 pop up over the trees playing chicken I still get goosebumps
The Spad scenes in Flight of the Intruder were brilliantly filmed as well...wasn't that Jay Cullum and Steve Hinton?
