Warbird Information Exchange

This is what happens when you have an addiction to old planes. At first it was just a few little trinkets off of warbirds hanging in the living room as decoration. Then the house filled up with parts. Then my backyard filled up with old airplane parts. Then my driveway filled up with junk airplane parts. Then several of my friend's hangers and barns filled up with junk warbird parts. Then I started buying entire completely hopeless warbirds. Then the paint fell of my truck from logging 570,000+ miles of towing to much of this stuff around. Then I bought a $25 gallon of olive drab paint and presto, the circle of madness is complete- almost anyway- I still have to paint nose art on it. To buy a new truck would mean less money to buy junk airplane parts.

What shade did you use? Did you match it with the Federal Standard 595B cards or did you use the ANA 2 or 3 digit system? The invasion stripes look like they were taped and may be too clean and straight. A mop would have been a better applicator. What was your reference for the demarcation line between the green and grey? What is the serial number of your carburetor and does it fall within the appropriate range for the color scheme? Why isn't there a sharks mouth?

What engine do you have? Trans? I got a diesel that's doing good, but the automatic tranny is sick after 140,000.... I have a 3x4' wing panel from the L-18 I have set aside for you. G.

7.3L diesel? that engine will do 500,000 with just a little TLC.

I think Taigh is on to something. Those wheel wells are surely the wrong shade of _______________(insert color here and get ready to argue)! Sharks mouth needed also to make it authentic.

Perhaps you should paint the inside of the wheel wells green, just in case Vlado starts poking his head around inside?
