It's been reported that the aircraft was a C-124A enroute from ANC to McChord AFB that disappeared after taking off from Elmendorf with 41 pax and a crew of 11 on Nov. 22, 1952. The report stated it appears the aircraft went straight into the glacier at crusing speed with only the tail grouping remaining more or less intact including the s/n.
