Good morning Zach, I believe I have your address correct. Great location I must add and I hope to stop by and shake some hands for once. I bet it's a big surprise sometimes to meet WIXers in person, I would assume what you think of someone online and what you meet in person are far different, hopefully for the better  :D Are women allowed to attend or is your gathering a "male only" affair? A female friend of mine always wonders why I spend so much time on this website and wants to meet what she suggests "are others that suffer the same internet forum obsession" lolol
She also states she'll win the bikini contest hands down

You must not have heard of the Wives Of WIX project. We usually encourage wives and significant others to attend WIX gatherings. Although we do have several female members so maybe we should rename it the WIX Auxiliary.

I've made a great many friends from the WIX gathering, and have only experienced one time where two WIXers who had a disagreement on the forum met in person at the cookout and didn't come away friends. In any case, women are more than welcome to attend, although the bikini contest is down the street at the S.O.S. brothers beer tent.

I have made numerous friends in the last 16 years and that is the greatest gift the site has given me.

Unfortunately finances have kept me from attending ANY airshows this year  However I do intend on going to Geneseo next year and maybe we'll see if we can attend AirVenture in 2014. It has always been one of those pilgrimage type events I've always wanted to do.

SOMEBODY get this man to Oshkosh!!!! Seriously, if someone can give you a ride Scott, either via auto or airplane, you can stay at my place, literally bordering the EAA grounds, AND I'll give you one of my personal passes for the week. You'd only have to pay for a couple of meals and whatever souvenirs you take home. The offer stands if you can get away for the week or even just a few days. Just let me know.

Zack

What day are you planning the run up in your big, blue carbon footprint?

Just a reminder - WIX party is tomorrow (THURSDAY) starting at 5:30pm. If you are at Wittman Field and don't know where to go - find the FAA control tower and start heading west from there on Waukau Ave. Go past the S.O.S. Bros. BEER tent until you get to the end of the street. It's the last house on the left before you get to Poberezny (the frontage road). Hope to see you there!

NOTE: Please spread the word - the "Welcome WIXers" P-47 banner is NOT up in the yard. My fence posts seem to have disappeared. Sorry 'bout that!

PS: for the new folks - the party is in the back yard.

A big thank you to Jenn, Zach, Dan K, and all who put together the WIX gathering. It was great to see familiar faces and meet some new ones!!

Thank you indeed! Coming into the week there is only one thing that is set in stone and that's the WIX party. It was awesome to see so many new faces as well as the regulars.

Here's the unruly mob (In super extra huge form so you can see all our ugly mugs!)

Now there's some very confused people - and one wearing an Aussie flag cap, unless I'm much mistaken?

Is it a worry to want to be there (again?)

Zach and Jenn, Thanks for your hospitality! Had a brief, but excellent visit, and your warmth as well as from others present, made a very big impression on my son's first visit....said it felt like family 'cept the police wern't involved! Great to put faces to the names I've heard so many times on the site......Maybe name tags next time, then I don't have to embarass myself too much before the beer flows! Cheers, and many more gatherings....Thanks again for your efforts!

p.s. I didn't even have one rock thrown at me!!
