ALERT: Thread Hijack :axe:
To Bill and anybody else who went to Geneseo 2012. I would like to put together an article for the site and was wondering if all of you would help. Either post your images of Geneseo 2012 (assuming your okay with me using them of course) here or send them to me at submit "at" warbirdregistry.org and let me know how the credit should read. Also, tell me what you liked or disliked about Geneseo (you might want to e-mail or PM that to me) and I'll see what I can come up with. This is more of an experiment I could use your help with. Thanks.

Yeah, we were pretty sad about that all too. We put in a lot of work to have them come.

For my father and I, it was another year of meeting up with good friends and "coming home" as it were. For those who I only saw for a brief encounter or two, IT WAS TOO SHORT! And we missed the WIX photo! :( Regardless it was a blast. The weather cooperated (mostly) and it turned out to be another unique show. It was also excellent meeting Austin Hancock and Wadsworth finally! But I must admit, I felt that the lineup was rather slim. Yes we lost three of the biggest draws this year (Lancaster, P-47, Fw-190) but even without these three it was a smaller show. I really hope this doesn't continue. There simply isn't any other show like Geneseo. I grew up watching faded VHS tapes of hundreds of birds sitting and flying over that grass field. I long to witness that spectacle again. Something has to be done. While I understand were not living in 1989 again, Geneseo is something magical for alot of us who've been there. It needs to be that again. I heard that they intentionally try and keep the show at a minimum to minimize loss if theirs bad weather, etc. BUT what your also doing is minimizing success and profit if it's good weather. While I know there's far more factors in this I am still glad there's a show at all, and I'm able to share that with my father who was lucky enough to witness the "big shows" of the past. Maybe they'll come back. We just have to hold on.

So without further adieu, here are some shots taken by the old man (mostly on Sunday when the weather wasn't great).

In the 11 straight shows that I have attended, we have not seen a T-33. I'm sure if you could do a couple of flybys, the good folks at the HAG would fly up to Rochester, pick you up, and we would show you a great time on the field! (That's my not-too-subtle invitation). :drink3:
