There was a Jungmeister in San Antonio a few years ago with a turbine!!!! Did some kind of time to climb record. The Storch gear is unusual. When we repaired the gear on the CAFs' we jacked it up about four feet and it was still on the ground! We wound up strapping the gear together and then hoisting it from above. The gear strut is made of some kind of unatannium (but thats a different story)

That is some great footage and gorgeous audio.

You even got the Frenchy-Frenchman Bernard announcing. I actually like Bernie's style.

Hope to see you next year at Flying Legends.

You are too kind Sir, thank you.
Yes of course I got Bernard in, how could I not... he wouldn't stop talking! 8)
Actually I kinda like him too, great sense of humour and a good story teller. He even said at the balbo that he was going to shut up according to orders
I hope to see you next year as well Don! :drink3:

I still can't get over how he hung that thing in the air, that was a very cool sight to see.

One last observation from a month on...
BUY THE PROGRAMME at Duxford AND at any other Airshow... but for different reasons.

Flying Legend's programme is as good as any Warbird magazine you will ever buy!!!
It is published in association with the Imperial War Museum and The Fighter Collection and it is simply top shelf!!! :drink3:

The difference I noticed from shows like Wings Over Houston is that you can buy a program at WOH and take it to the autograph tent and you can easily turn it into a collector's item by getting the veterans present to sign it... From years past I have Tex Hill, Bud Anderson, Archie Donahue, Joe McPhail... and the list goes on.

At Duxford it is more typical for the veterans to be hosted in a tent selling prints or books and you buy that item in order to get an autograph.

But I will repeat... The Duxford programme is as good as any Magazine you will ever buy off the stand it it is definitely a good value for the money.

.....and buy the DVD too! Steve always does a great putting it together, I even get the ones from recent years when I've not been able to attend.
