The January issue of the new car magazine Hemmings Classic Car has a six-page article about Packard's contribution to WWII. The production of the Merlin is extensively featured.
BTW: A wartime ad is reproduced that touts the Merin use in Mosquitos, Hurricanes and Lancasters (as well as P-40Fs & Ls and PT boats)...a nice nod to the British aviation indsutry.
