Hi Steve
In those days the fiscal year ran from 1 July thru 30 June (what it is these days I don’t know) as you can see when 42-7796 is transferred from Pope to Mitchell field. The AMC entries, as you can guess, are for budgeting air frame/engine overhall time by AMC.
The SCU entries are for the “Big Picture” inventory control for HQ AAF. Each theater had its own SCU unit that kept track of their inventory and usage of personal and equipment. Only the IARCs of HQ AAF were microfilm thus when a plane leaves the U.S. and does not come back it is not reported on IARCs of HQ AAF only that it left.
As a side note in the remarks column for 42-7796 it gives the date and order when the O-58s were redesignated L-3s
