P-51D Roll and Roar

Nice HD video featuring P-51D "Cripes A' Mighty". Awesome engine roar as it makes several passes for the crowd. Also, some neat cockpit video of Kermit Weeks taking it on a roll, and four point roll. Pretty cool!

I WAS THERE!!!!! I'm so glad they have put the video up on Youtube because I tried to take some pictures of it in flight and failed miserably!

Nice video. I was lucky enough to have flown in the Cripes many years ago with Linda Meyers at the controls. Great ride.

Fun video, and great sight/sound quality. Thanks for the link. Made me forget about my lousy morning commute (if only for 2-1/2 minutes or so). :x

You can see me at 2:11 the handsom guy in the maroon shirt with the black hat on at the left hand side of the screen! I wish I'd been the guy in the green shirt BEHIND Mr Weeks!

Very important Mustang for me as it was with the RNZAF post war and was put back into the air as a civilian aircraft (ZK-CCG) in the 1960s. I saw it on her final flight before being crated and sent to the US in 1974. It was the first real warbird I had seen in the air and even though I hadn't seen one in the "flesh" before I instantly recognised the shape! I was only 12 too!
