Airbus Tanker Loses Another Refueling Boom

So is this a problem for a tanker? Glad the US didn't select this aircraft. I think this is the second boom that has fallen off in flight.

Glad to see that the media is as unable to read or hear a press release as always...

A boom is a rigid hose that extends from the undercarriage of the plane to feed a second aircraft with extra fuel so it can continue flights without landing.

Hmmmm, ain't a rigid hose usually called a pipe?

and wouldn't the gear have to be extended for refueling?
