Hi Y'All,

Here is a selection of photos from today's GGA Fall Fling at Meacham Field in Fort Worth. The weather was "iffy" all day so the participation by aircraft and cars was somewhat diminished from what it should have been. Still, I think we all had a good time. GGA's DC-3 was running revenue flights every 30 minutes all day long, and every flight was full! They raised a lot of money for the B-25 and A-26 restoration funds.

Aerobatics in a DC-3? Nah. Just lucky shooting by yours truly! 8)
Our resident aviation artist, Jason Barnett, was on this flight.

My go-to-work car: 8) (shameless bragging)

A well-known local female pilot and frequent WIX participant flew in for the event. Here she is, pictured with her high-tech aircraft and her unique flying helmet, shortly after touching down. Her face is blanked out because she asked that I keep her identity a secret, and I felt obliged to comply with her request. :D

I had a great time out there. It was worth the drive from Houston. I was a bit nervous about ruining the upholstery in the "Southern Cross" due air sickness because of the rough ride, but I did just fine. I really enjoyed the flight.

I was surprised to see the Lodester nose out there. The GGA guys had talked of converting it into a mobile bar , but I don't know if that is still the plan. The poor thing took on a little more damage to the right side in the same wind storm that tore up a lot of stuff around Meacham Airport a short time ago. That poor old Lodestar just can't win.

I did some horse trading with the Lodester for a Trojan. Once I had determined that the Lodestar had more damage and corrosion than most Pacific wrecks, I decided to move on to my next disaster.
