If you are talking about the one being restored in Breckenridge, it came from Dusty Dowd in Kansas. I can't remember the number of it. He ended up with Moon's P-51A "Polar Bear".

News to me, they usually prefer to purchase restored aircraft. There may be some confusion because the bought the O'Connor Corsair. Mr. O'Conner in turn purchased the Waltrip Blue Angel Bearcat the same week. It was on display at Lone Star at the time.

They have at least five project aircraft that I am aware of which are either currently in restoration or are in storage awaiting restoration. They are far more committed to aircraft restoration than you are aware. The current projects are all but guaranteed to be award winners when complete and will increase the number of some very rare types. That's all I will say.

Great to see this one on the road to recovery. When the new spar was built for David Price's Bearcat, I am pretty sure they made one for this airplane. That was a big job in itself! The spar cap was one solid machined, formed and heat treated piece the length of the center wing.

I believe the CAF Bearcat at Camarillo has been a CAF Bearcat since the dawn of warbirding.
I remember working on it at Chino when John Sandberg was the sponsor for a short period.
They have the Price Spitfire though.
I think Rod Lewis has the ex Price Bearcat.

Wrong Bearcat. The CAF one was never with David Price. The one done for Price (ex-Salis and TFC at Duxford) ended up with Rod Lewis.

The CAF aircraft has 201 on the side. David Price's hadd 205. I asked Steve Barber what the differences were. he replied, "Oh, about $1,000,000!"
