I don't suppose you have a copy of the accident report for a USAAF DH Gipsy Moth 44-90485 which crashed 10 mls NE of Dakar, Senegal 22.1.45.

What is interesting about this serial (if confirmed) is that it would fill in 'a missing gap' on Joe Baughers 44 Serial list.. 44-90485 and 44-90484 are only listed as 'reserved'

450122; Gypsy Moth; 44-90485; CREF; Loftus, Frank L; Dakar/ 10mi NE
CREF = Crashed due to Engine Failure

Martin - That entry is the one we are trying to confirm!!! - Is that from the Internet or another source?? The serial is also listed at AccidentReports.com!
Rob - That implies the USAF had a number of Gypsy Moths - I know they used Tiger Moths in the UK, but Gypsy Moths is a new one with me....
