I remember seeing a photo of one once that said it was being tested with a 4 bladed prop. Don't know if it was this plane or not.

The a/c with the 4 blade prop looks like a Bearcat to me. Look at the lack of dihedral where the landing gear strut meets the wing.

I don't think it's a Bearcat, as the F8F's wing is attached mid-fuselage, like the Wildcat. The F6F sports a low wing. Also, notice the solid turtle deck behind the canopy. I think it's probably correct that it is a test ship for the 4 blade prop.

Thanks for the discussion gents. This picture of a picture was taken by a gentleman whose wife purchased those photos for him off of ebay as a Birthday present. He says the aircraft w/ the four blader in the pic is definitely a Hellcat. I'm sure I could get him to take a better close up of the picture if you guys are interested. I was just wondering if this pic would be considered a rarity and if it would have increased value because of the nature of the subject.
