DANG!! Where are those A-30 BALTIMORES today?
Anyone else spot the mothballed and stripped C-46's under the B-45's right wing?
Any idea what's up with the inboard leading edges in that P-40 head on shot? and the opposite underwing paint/markings.

Wow - have to admit I have never heard of the Douglas destoryer! Kind of a Corsair meets tricycle gear. . .
And I know it was a hideous beast to fly until the -5 or -7 model, but I love the looks of the Cutlass!!

That SNJ photo zoomed to 400% has some interesting stuff in the background: two B-18s; the farthest one has some odd camo scheme; RCAF Digby perhaps? And what's the story on the white B-17s?

Part 2 ...

SNJ-3C possibly as a proving craft for the mods.
The -3C was used through most of WWII on the Great Lakes Carriers.
The -5C came along late in the war and was used post war.
Our SNJ-3 was used at Glenville but only for Field Carrier Landing Practice and that was in Aug thru Dec of 44.
Wonder if any SNJ-3Cs survived?

I just spotted a small 'ah-ha' detail in part 2. Photo #EL2000-00263 of the TBM-1 3/4 right rear shot for modellers to note-the wedge shaped whisp of white on the rudder as part of the three tone camo, and I'd sure like to know the N # of that either model 10 or 12 LOCOWEED out the right edge behind Lyle Lovett.

For some reason, I always thought this shot was taken here at the airport in Stratford. The hangar in the background looks like our Curtiss hangar. That and the fact that the 56th FG were based here with P-47's. Oh well, I'll keep looking for wartime 56th shots here.
