Hello:
I would like help locating Navy & Marine mission reports and other “detailed” records relating to the planes that were lost near Yap Island in 1944 and 1945. I have a list of the planes at the following link:
American Planes Lost on Missions to Yap Island
http://www.missingaircrew.com/yap/yapmissions.asp
I know how (have a lot of experience) to locate AAF records including MACR (Missing Air Crew Reports), mission reports, etc.; however, I’m struggling with the best sources to request similar detailed mission reports for the Navy & Marine planes listed on the link above. For example, I paid someone $75 last week for what I thought was going to be detailed data and it turned out to be much, much, less. Please help point me to the archives that have the best data.
Thanks in advance,
Respectfully,
-Pat
