Pete:

Good day!

Your F4U-5N FAH 603, Buno 123168 also has a unique story with FAH operational service.

FAH 603 came fm Litchfield Park NAS on a ferry flight with 3 other F4U-5Ns to Tgu on 27 March 1956.

On Feb13, 1967..it had a partial wheels up landing at Toncontin airport at Tgu, Honduras, At the controls that day was Cpt Fernando Soto Enriquez who managed to walked away after that landing. The aircraft was placed at the boneyard for spares and remained in place until the fuselage was shipped to the U.S to Hollywood Wings Inc c. 1979.(pic included).

We'll dig for a few pics while in FAH service & at boneyard. The "NP" code number was #8 and it revealed itself at the wings & R/speed brake fairing assy, after many years at the mercy of the elements & paint oxidation.

p.s Plz tell us what exactly is shown in place at the L/H cockpit cabin where the Vought ID plate should have been? Are the screw holes still in place?? Any other mod id plates/C/Ns found on the folding part of the wings?? What do your R/L wings flaps show for mod id plates??

Tks for the tme & attention. ...& the search continues..!
