Absolutely agree that we need fields in order to fly our warbirds. What is the AAF history of the airfield? What original structures are there? What are your plans for the museum? I wish you well with your endeavor.

REMEMBER THE SERGEANT PILOTS!

VAF is a 1941 airfield that *might have been an auxiliary / emergency for training flights in the Cuyama Valley in the war. Gardener Field is 30 miles down the road form here and trained 8000 plus cadets in W.W.II, including Chuck Yeager. We have several buildings brought here after the war including a 50 foot long Marine Quonset hut of 1/2 inch steel! VAF has two houses, one we live in and the other is a W.W.II pilot-house / ready-room.
