Not that long term at all really, 4 or 5 years.

No, Glyn is still working on his at his property, it has a silver finish applied already.

I actually predicted Phil would post news of another Australasian project pinched from that Facebook group, as opposed to this which is hardly news at all. He never fails to disappoint..."according to what we are told" - what who are told? And by whom?

Sure is the FHC's TV959, as has (I'm fairly sure) been shared here previously by some when she arrived at Ardmore....Oh would you look at that: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=40877&hilit=tv959

No that is John Smith's aircraft over near Nelson. Tail was on when I visited back in 2005 and sat in the cockpit. Lots of other goodies in the newish shed, however the Hudson is now with Bill Reid who has the Anson.

The example in this post will return to Seattle when done.

Sadly (for we Kiwis) for just a year. After 12months on the circuit here she is to move on to the UK under the stewardship of the Flying Mosquito Trust, as related in recent issues of Classic Wings and Aeroplane.

Glyn originally planned to fly her "home" to Bankstown, Australia after completion but in his words this is no longer likely. DaveM2 may help with a direct quote? :-)

For those not on Facebook, images are of what I believe to be Flying Heritage Collections Mosquito TIII TV959 fuselage in a support jig. It is stripped to the original bare wood and of its equipment and fittings, at AvSpecs' New Zealand shop. I'm assuming they are building a new wing from scratch to replace the chopped original. This and Glyn Powells machine should be very fine flying restorations when completed. Glyns will stay in NZ, FHC's Mossie will return to their Seattle, Washington museum.

I did not realize the FHC had a Mosquito in their collection. The question should be what doesn't the FHC have in the pipeline? From a Me 262, to a Ju 87 to a He 111. Quite an assortment to look forward to seeing someday.

Lynn (and Pat), the FHC Mossie was on public view for many years (I have pictures from a visit in 1979) hanging from the ceiling of the Imperial War Museum in London. Later traded to Stephen Grey and at some point moved on to FHC. Very intact except the wing was sawed off on one side in order to fit in the building.

I think Glyn made a few fuselages and wings for various projects at RAAF point cook, Canadian museum, KA114, His project and the TV959 project. The Avspecs boys said that it would take about 4 years to restore TV959 now they have the jigs and no how.

No, Glyn's first was for the Canadian Museum, he then did KA114 and is currently working on his own project.

Both the Pt Cook and TV959 are basically using their original airframes IRAN.
