The Air Zoo has been loaned a V-1 Buzz Bomb from NASM. Will try to get more information

Exciting news for the Air Zoo! After seeing the job the staff at the Air Zoo did on the restoration of the XP-55, I kind of had the feeling it would not be long 'till the NASM let them "have" another project. Maybe someday they can get the "Swoose" for a restoration project. Hah, Hah.

When I was at the Air Zoo this past summer the XP-55 was almost done. Have they finished it yet? If so what are they starting in it's place?

my guess is that it is the Ford JB-2 which has been in storage and not the original V-1 hanging in NASM for many years. A confirmation would be good!

Last time I saw it it was on the gear and looking close to complete. The size really surprised me, it has alot taller stance than I imagined.
According to the latest newsletter the V-1 is actually a collection of parts that can be assembled into a complete Buzz Bomb.

Actually I was hoping for the Me410 :P

If you could help me with a photo of the V 1 either assembled or in parts and a permission to use the photo I'd be very interest! - it's for my website...

Next time I go to the Restoration Center I'll get some photos. Might be a couple of weeks though.

The restoration center is closed to the public until spring, so it looks like I'll have to wait awhile before I can get my first look at the Buzz Bomb.
