Thanks for the message, when I have a chance I'll send you an email. I have recurrent next month for the airline I'm flying for, so I'm studying for that. Was great to hear from you, excited to hear what information you have.

Take your time, we're in the same business, and guess what ? My recurrent here in the sandpit is due in Feb as well...

Yes, Corporal Shouichi Suzuki belonged to the 244 Sentai with Army fighter Ki 61 (Tony).
According to his diary," On January 27, he waited the B29s with 3 fighters over Hamamatsu then received an order to go to Mt Fuji area and attacked B29s. One B29 was definitely shot down and damaged to 2 B29s then landed to Fuji Air Base for refueling and flew back to the home base"

His Tony was shut down by fighters from air carrier on February 16th over Asikaga City where locates northeast of Tokyo, did not survived.

The aircraft explorded in 3 pieces over Mt Fuji. Downed aircraft was "We are Wolf ?" Serial 42-63423. Captain Hahn, Second Lt Edman and Sgt Myhra landed on the rice field in Fujinomiya city. Lt Lower, Second Lt Franzler and Sgt Overmire's parachute did not opened and died. The rest of crew could not get out from the rear section of the aircraft and died. Stg. Myhra was hospitalized to army hospital on Feb. 9 but died the next day.

All aircrew members died by bombing with 464 B29s at Tokyo Prison Camp on May 25th.
