Aviation Heritage show, 1994

I put this in the Base Theater but I don't think it was seen much. In 1994 I attended the Aviation Heritage show just across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky. Here's video from the show, which featured a bunch of Mustangs, a P-47, a P-38, several aces, some of the big bombers, a few Corsairs (including what I think was the show debut of an FG-1D, recently restored there) and a few jets.

It was nice to see my wife and I leaving in Worry Bird if I remember correctly we had to leave early in order to get to Reno that year.

Something interesting is that from my count only Crazy Horse and Worry Bird have the same owners today.

This sure brings back memories! My whole family went to this airshow, I was only 8 years old at the time. We lived about 20 miles west of the airport, and I remember seeing the old planes flying over the house in the days leading up to the show.

Here is a picture of myself, my brother, and a family friend at the Clark County Airshow in 1994 (I'm on the left).



The most vivid memory that stands out is being so close to those airplanes when they fired up the engines. I can still taste and smell that smoke to this day. Thank you for posting this, you may even see me wandering around in that crowd somewhere.

This was also the same show when my older brother wandered into the VIP tent with my photo of the P-51 Glamorous Glenn, asking for Chuck Yeager. He asked someone in an officers uniform, who introduced him to Chuck saying "Chuck, this young gentleman would like to meet you and get your autograph". And that is how I obtained Chuck Yeager's autograph

I still have the ticket stub and Event Booklet for this show. I will try to scan it and post it on here.

I believe that Bud Anderson was also at this show, as my uncle had the opportunity to talk to him, along with several other aviation legends and Aces.
