I had the good fortune to meet Col. Gibbons when he participated in a WWII veterans panel discussion during a model show that we put on at the EAA AirVenture Museum. I had hoped to interview him for the oral history program that I run, but we could never get our schedules together to sit down and do it. Rest in peace Colonel Gibbons.
