Haha, bummer for them! And they haven't replaced the picnic table, either. You ever stand on that thing? It was termites holding hands!

It is going to be marked as a A/C from VF-12 or VBF-12 from the USS Randoph. It will have the number 32 in 2 ft high letters in front of the insignia, a white vertical with 3 blue stripes, and white control surfaces. It was pretty muched masked today.

Fun! The old Heller 1/72 kit came with those markings back in the 1970s.

VF-12 old #32 will look nice, even though I'm a little partial to another VF (11) Source, NMNA archives

Nice excavation work again Mark!!!!! I'm sort of partial to the earlier, hastily applied numbers if they provide a small paragraph explaining that there wasan't time to do a showcar application in the middle of a war and they are supposedly all about 'when it was..' correctness (never mind the paint on the P-40)

Well my pleasure! :D ... here's another VF-12 Hellcat which I would assume may have had to, or mistakenly, or maybe even a CAG Hellcat that had business on the Yorktown.

Sorry dudes, can I throw another one in here? I'm on a roll

Hey, I'm a member of that club too. Yikes...I really thought I was gonna be the straw that broke the camel's back sooner of later. Glad to hear there were other "players" too!

Whatever it takes to get a shot over the fence, eh?!
