saw in today's paper that it is chuck yeager's birthday. happy birthday chuckles!! i know that many opinions vary about him on this board, so i won't even broach the subject!! however, he is still pretty spry for 90 years old. the paper had him ranked as a major general...... is this an error or was he given a post military promotion from brigadier general??

In 2005, Yeager was promoted on the retirement list to Major General, along with Billy Mitchell (posthumously).

Whether the guy is a jerk now (he seems to be a grumpy old man...we may get like that at his age...so I won't cast the first stone :) )..he still deserves or respect fior his wartime accomplishments...and the guts he displayed as a test pilot.

He's done more...for aviation and our country...than most of us will ever do.

Give the complaints a rest.
If you think you're a bigger man than he is...now is the time to prove it.

John you got me....

While I'm physically a bigger man than him, I can otherwise lower myself to his level...
