News i guess for interested Mustang fighter enthusos - an Australian based Mustang is going on sale and "cheap" - just listed this afternoon at http://www.platinumfighters.com/#!p-51d-vh-fst/cjem

If this is sold overseas it will leave around 6 flyable or under repair Mustangs left i recall, with a few other restoration projects on the go.

what is the origin of this example, it doesn't show in Joe Baugher's pages or in the registry?
is this one of the few remaining CAC (NAA licensed) P-51 Mustangs?

I'm just axin' :axe:

From what I found in the directory here - it is 45-11526, but it does say "Composite restoration based on TNI-AU airframe" - I didn't see any other details than that... Mike

Seevers was an instructor at Cal Poly, Pomona where I went to college. He had the fuselage at the school and used it for students to do their senior projects on. Free labor I guess!

In that era a lot of Mustangs with corroded longerons were going to government museums as static displays in trade for other things, so I'm glad he embarked on that project.
