Re: TMZ asks Travolta who is his "dream co-pilot".

Bob Morgan in a B-17. Glad I got to meet the man twice before he went west.
But more than anyone who ever flew, I'd give ANYTHING to be able to go back and fly with my Uncle on my Dad's side, who flew transports in WW2 and won the DFC for going over the Hump in 47s and 54s. Sadly, he got bad info from the tower on takeoff and smached into a mountain in 1950. I never met the man as I was born almost 20 years later. But yeah, he's the one I would want to fly with the most out of anyone in history.

Great suggestion...that would have been fun...
But a small correction, it was Frank Tallman who flew for Murphy's War.
Mantz was killed in 1965, Murphy's War was released in 1971.

Thanks for the correction....................should have dawned on me that it was Tallman in Murphys war..............guess thats my fault for watching clips of Flight of the Phoenix earlier in the week on Youtube. :)

George Goeble, Wiley Post, Roscoe Turner, Pangborn, or Pancho Barnes would sound like interesting fun.

Clark Gable was not a rated pilot, military or civilian.

Surprised Travolta did not name TC or L Ron. These scientoligists are whack jobs.

I would love to be inside the Winnie Mae on a flight from Tulsa to Claremore with Wiley Post at the helm and Will Rogers sitting next to me. They made that flight; I would have killed to be on it. Or maybe on their flight throughout the southwest in the Lockheed Orion, visiting friends in Colorado and New Mexico, before fitting the airplane out with pontoons for the fateful flight north. Can you imagine a better combo of pilot and seat companion?

If I had a pilots license, I wouldn't care who was in the right seat!

Mudge the grounded :(

I would love to fly right seat with Ken McCullar or Jay Zeamer of the 43rd BG over Rabaul or anywhere in the SWPA; Jock Henebry OR Chuck Howe OR Dick Ellis of 3rd Attack over Simpson Harbor; Robert Rosenthal over Germany ... etc. :supz:
