This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Oh thanks a lot pal, now I'll never be able to relax again, never thought about that. Wonder how many times that thing has buzzed over while I was busy studyin' my shoelaces? Crap, this means I'll have to watch airplanes closer.

I feel your pain brother. Just what we need, "gimbal-neckitis" with a bizjet as a reward most of the time...arrrghhhh!

Flying Pencil, Legends is the new comer at Ellington. The Collings Foundation jets and Huey have been based at EFD since 2002. The Me-262 is owned and operated by the Collings Foundation.
Warbird Kid,the plan is for the 262 to join the tour from Texas to Arizona, then return to Houston. The aircraft has very short legs. This initial tour appearance will give us better insight as to best handle the jet in the future.

Seen at NAF El Centro on Thursday. Not warbirds, I know, but I had too much fun taking the photos not to share.

When they are still active service, Herr Inspector! When they begin their civilian life they join the ranks of the "classic" meaning of "warbirds"....at least that's what I believe he was referring to.(EDIT: Of course you could say the active combat aircraft are "warbirds" and the eventual civilian versions are "Warbirds", but I got no dog in that hunt.)
....And by the way JamesinTucson , The thread is "What Airplane Did You See Flying Today?"...not "which Warbird..." . It's been pretty flexible on folks' offerings.....Thanks for your latest!

There might be a TA-4 Skyhawk in the EFD pattern in the morning !
Mon Feb 25, 2013 7:32 pm
Had to stand down today ( 50mph winds), but the C-47 will fly tomorrow in Hondo (weather permitting)

We thought we'd just tie a string onto the Skyhawk and fly it like a kite !
