This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Bad news comes in droves!
Jeff Harris of Allied Fighters passed away today after a very short illness.
Jeff was truly one of the good ones. A person of integrity and honor which
seems to be a rarer commodity lately in the warbird world. Jeff loved warbirds, the
history behind them and the men who flew/maintained them. He was very proud
of his dad who was a pilot in the 354th FG. I only have a few details and choose not
to pass them on at this time. Please don't speculate about the collection inc the
Dottie Mae and the F6F. I for one don't really care about the airplanes right now.
Rest in peace Jeff!

Our condolences. Like I said earlier, this community is so small and close knit that the loss of one of us is felt by all of us, even if we never met the person before.
Thanks for checking in Jack. I know I'd like to see you posting here again.

Such a shock. Spoke to him in early Feb about his planned trip to the UK and seeing the F6F at Yeovilton and meeting up.
Such a nice guy.
Will be really missed by everyone who knew him

Among many things, it takes courage to live life and passion to enjoy life. It's ironic the signs to be read by posts from others who knew a person who is no longer with us. By not knowing him personally there is no question Jeff was a courageous man, a passionate man and a compassionate man. I once had an opportunity to meet Jeff through Jack. I didn't take that opportunity as I should have and it's quite apparent I missed a memorable experience. We sometimes take for granted that life could be longer than it really is and we try to life live without regret.
Through all your posts it has become apparent the man Jeff was, I now feel I have met him, and there's no regret. He will be missed by all who knew him and those of us who did not know him. His legacy will last as long as old airplanes fly. Chino is a little colder today, but you can be sure there will be warmth coming back very soon, and those of you who frequent Chino and knew Jeff will know where that warmth comes from.
Rest in Peace
