Help needed to move our PV-2 Harpoon

Inspector, you are right, it took a set of Wilson's to just go ahead and git'er done....but that was back in the day....I have heard lately of a fellow in Arizona that would throw the tail wheel of a Harpoon in the back of a pickup and tow it from Chandler to Mesa and got away with it....But now, in this day of litigation, every different municipality that you crossed as well as the county and the state, and don't forget the feds, boy, they would have a hey day of assessing fines on ones dumb a$$ for attempting such a feat.
In moving oversize loads, I get people all the time ( and some that know better) that tell me that "Why just move it at night, or take back roads" Back in the day, you could get away with it.. With having a CDL (commercial Drivers license), I have to do everything I can do to protect it from these DOT and eager rookie guardians of the rulebooks that can nickel and dime a driver out of business. We get ticketed for hitting a pot hole so hard that it takes out one of the at least minimum 24 light bulbs (or led bulbs) on an 18 wheeler. Calif is the worst state to get a simple infraction. My last speeding ticket in Ca. going down the I-5 south on the grapevine...3mph over the limit 48 in a 45...cost me $375....not including court fees. That's why I (usually) will not ever, never bootleg a load anymore (this week)

Don't know anything about how the Poon is constructed but could you build a cradle which held the fus at an angle like the Sanders' cradle for the Sea Fury?
Convert some of the width onto height? Is that an option?

I have been working with Pythagorean's theorem for a while, doing exactly that...trying to build the perfect rotisserie to mount the PV-2, and the L-18/Lodestar, as they are basically the same width wise. The idea is to get the whole airframe, from a heads-on perspective, to fit in a 16' box...or effectively, if you were hauling it down the road, and you came upon a tunnel that was exactly 16' tall, and 16' wide, it would fit through.

In most states, this would take it out of the super load category, and make it much more manageable, expense-wise to move...still a permit load.
