Hope these links work... I've never done this before but here are (hopefully) links to a couple pictures of the Hellcat just out of the paint shop from their Facebook page...

You know, that had never been my favorite Hellcat scheme before but after seeing it painted... WOW! Looks fantastic!

Jason if your not working as a professional photographer, you should be. You and Spookythecat really should start a business up there. The level of photography you two create is quite spectacular and valuable IMHO. Always a pleasure to open up your posts. Good job!

Just looked at your website, looks as if you are indeed a pro. Nicely done!

It takes a special talent to make a direct injection supercharged engine backfire so dramatically-

Thank you, Mark! I've gotten a few photos published in the last couple of years, but most of all it's just for the fun of it. Every now and then I get really lucky with a quick flash of smoke and fire. I know I won't be able to get out to these places at the drop of a hat like this forever, so I take advantage of it while I can. :-)

I always enjoy seeing the shots Al gets as well. Especially when I shoot video. It's nice to see the events from a different angle.

BTW, I am working on the video from this morning now. Nothing fancy, just some Daimler-Benz noise. :-p

Does this count as a second flight? They swung the gear earlier in the week (which I missed) and Friday they were jacking up the Hellcat for its weight and balance:

Next up on the list of annuals, the Thunderbolt!

I think a few of these would look very nice lining a driveway. :-)

Greetings Jason, again always a pleasure to open up your threads and see the magic you create with your camera. Great stuff. Question: I have been to the FHC museum once in the not so recent past and cannot remember if there is a vantage point to take elevated photos. Is there a mezzanine by chance? If not is it possible to take a few elevated panoramic shots? Perhaps with an extended camera pole? Just wondering. Wouldn't that make for some outstanding photos. Keep up the great work.

Mark

Great stuff Jason!
Thanks for the terrific stuff.
You had mentioned something about a video of a Daimler Benz running. I don't really think anyone here would much care for that sort of thing
We can't wait!!

I agree with Mark. Your images are excellent!

Thanks guys! The only elevated platform is in the very back of the hangar by the Lancaster fuselage section...
Next week I'll take my new tripod head made specifically for creating 360x180 panoramics and see if I can get a couple good ones for you.

Here's that video of the 109 engine run...

http://youtu.be/XFry3BCf0_Y

April 11th is the grand opening party (for museum members, myself included) for the new hangar! I can't wait to see it and will take LOTS of photos!

Great photos and video Jason! Thanks for posting.

The Bf 109 in the video doesn't sound very healthy though.... :?
